Does anyone have experience, contacts or knowledge in general, on how to pivot into the experiential space. It’s something I am super interested in, I’ve worked on live shows like theater and concerts. I’ve worked with people in other countries that have done a lot of fun things in that space; like a giant snowglobe for McDonalds that was a working McDonalds in Poland.
Would love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks

I think a lot of it is all about who you know, and having a really creative portfolio. They want to hire people who are out of the box thinkers, and who are willing to try and risk and do things differently. Everybody I know in that space has been referred by other creatives.

I’m actually more of a manager/line producer producer and less direct creative. I just like putting it together brainstorming and pulling the right people together. I’ve done a lot of big stuff and used to work for Viacom. I’ve been seeing alot of job post for experiential but don’t presently have contacts in it and thought I’d ask here. Thanks

I no longer work on experiential, but I did for over 10 years during my agency days. Check out Event Marketer to see what a lot of brands and agencies are doing.

I can say it was the best job I ever had. I was working in VR in the early 2000s, so I was exposed to a lot of groundbreaking tech. I helped design an Olympic village, video games, auto show events and more. My work in a lot of tech led me to UX. I’m probably a lot older than you. Agencies still think older, more experienced creatives don’t understand new tech, so I moved where my experience is valued.

Find the people who are involved in those events and start up a conversation. A niche and unique space, but I assume one that has a well-known community.

Lifesaver: preferred item which has unique powers of improving your mood.

Common lifesavers:
• snacks (snickers)
• drinks (Sweet Tea)
• songs/bands (Kokomo)
• pop culture references (Ron Swanson quotes)

Hi,
My HR discussion with
Cognizant is scheduled.
Is this going to be a salary discussion or questions like strength and weakness, why do you want to join etc?

Since summer started, working from home has been a blessing. I’m tanner than ever since I’m not stuck in the office until the sound goes down. And there’s something awesome about taking a conference call sitting out by the pool. It makes me feel way more important than I am.
