Not really. And when they say bring your whole self to work..it’s a trap, don’t do it.

Right!? I know it fully depends on the colleagues but it’s not worth the risk for me personally
That's something I think about at times, as I will make an effort to keep some comments to myself. I tend to have a cynical sense of humor, and there are times when I'll think of something to say but then I think better of it. A lot of office politics, to be honest, is just realizing it's best not to chime in.

Totally agree. I never join in with political conversations at work, it’s a slippery slope
I am my true authentic work self at work! Early on I worked in customer service and it’s exactly like that, you have a customer voice and then your regular voice. I’ve always found it easier to have a slight persona at work but depends a lot on your ‘true’ self 😂

Good for you!! I feel that’s really hard to do, but I bet you feel so much more free for it
This is completely normal. I am very buttoned up at work because that's what the environment demands. My real personality doesn't shine through until I'm off the clock.

I’m the exact same! My partner finds it so strange that I could have a side of me that is quite introverted, but my colleagues would find it weird for me to have an extroverted side
Hah! Not even close. For starters, I am covered in tattoos and not a single coworker knows. I'm also a speedboat racer, but I keep my personal life separate from my professional life. It cracks me up when I hear men talking about boating and whatnot in our office (it's big in our town), and no one would have any idea I'm one of the highest ranked females. It makes me feel like an undercover superhero.

Ahaha no way, that’s so cool!! It’s fun to have stuff they don’t know about you! Keeps it a bit more fun ahaha
Oh no. My work personality and my personal personality are two different people. They’re two different people who wouldn’t get along in real life lol

Literally the same as me!! Polar opposites ahahaha
