There are 16 leadership principle and I’m thinking of creating some stories around each but the thing that concerns me is what if the questions they ask are related to the same principle and I might have already used up my stories. Something like that. Can anyone please help? Amazon Amazon

Our gift is more work and micromanaging with a dash of nitpicking and nepotism!

Not okay and very disheartening
We've gotten gift certificates, so not quite money, but also not something useless. It's funny you mention the speaker, I still have a bluetooth speaker I got one Christmas at a previous job. From that place I also once got a blanket with the company logo, which I think I've still got in the box it came in. That's how useful that was! You're right, money is the preferred option, but the gift certificates are okay.

Dang! Where was the trip?
Money. Keep aiming for bonuses but we never hit our goals so we each get $100 or $200 some years.
My former employer of 27 years gave us money, it started out as cash based on length of service, then it changed to gift cards and then they put it in our paychecks and taxed it.
It’s an IRS rule; over a certain amount, unless for specific things like safety awards, need to be included in wages and taxed. Including gift cards
Last year it was a gift card to a butcher shop; it’s an odd choice. I still have mine, unspent, as we don’t really eat red meat.
Maybe see if they have spices? Lol, how random of a present and so not appropriate since there are many ppl that don't eat meat!!
I have worked for companies that give throughout the year. A lunch bag or water bottle. Potluck, secret Santa . My current company is small and doesn’t pay well, but at Christmas we all go out to lunch , and the company pays and we got a $1,500 bonus .
OP my organization doesn't give us jack squat for Christmas. Actually I take that back I think last year they did give us a $20 gift card to Amazon but you had to go to the Christmas party to get it/pick it up. I don't think we got anything the year before that.
My organization does not give us anything for the holidays. Instead, as employees, we put together a little in office potluck and do secret Santa and white elephant. But the organization doesn't do anything for us. Well, sometimes they give out Christmas cards but that is about it.

Holy smokes…. A $1500 bonus is amazing
I've been a 1099 contractor for YEARS for a single company. The founder of the company used to send very nice gifts such as salmon from the Pacific NW or wonderful high-end chocolates, but he sold the company >10 yrs ago and since then (and 2 subsequent owners) there's been diddly. "Coworkers" don't even have the means to communicate with each other, so there's NO "team" connection at all. No bonuses, no "thanks for your hard work," no nuthin' over several years. "Reward" is limited to a highly dependable check. It's more like a slightly higher cerebral equivalent to "y'want fries with that?" That said, I don't work for a gift, but rather for the dependable income that this company provides throughout the year.

Salmon from the pacific NW?! Fancy!! I bet those were the days…
We get a substantial Christmas bonus every year and I've been her for 27 years.

What do you consider substantial?
My company gives logo gifts for social worker month and nurses week.

I most recently worked for a very large company (250k employees). Never got a corporate gift but the dept I was in for over 5 years used to give us like $25 for a holiday meal, reimbursed through the expense process. They stopped that and then started providing a company lunch but it was only for employees in big cities. If money or gift card is not an option, an extra paid day off would be my next choice.

Love the idea of a gifted day off…. More companies should consider this…. An extra day off to keep in your back pocket that can be used at virtually any time
