I'm lucky that I taught at a very progressive school before moving into administration. Although I've never had to openly talk about it, some of my students could usually tell when it was that time because I became a lot more lax and assigned a lot of quiet work. On very bad days (usually day 2) I avoided standing as much as possible and had the students help me. I have endo so my bad days are usually very bad. Give yourself and your students grace. Unfortunately we can't let those things impact how we treat our students, especially if we become more negative as a result.
Similar experience due to endo. Ibuprofen was a real friend to my students, a hysterectomy more so
Discipline for the students doesn't increase but I become much more irritable. One time I cried on my lunch break because I was so frustrated. I learned. to just give the students free time to make up assignments when I'm going through bad PMS, it makes it easier for me.
Oh, the cramps can be brutal when you have to stand up all day for work. I teach elementary school students so they are a bit more low-maintenance than other age groups. Some times, I do a lesson from my seat.
The only thing that changes is I might be a bit more cautious about getting up, moving around, etc. Plus I might need someone to cover my class so I can slip to the bathroom.
