It may not be popular advice, but ignore it and pretend like it never happened. Just move past it and let it go. Work on yourself and your own emotional state and predisposition to getting defensive, but don't apologize or backtrack on anything you said. Just move forward.
I agree, just move on. Is there a reason they felt so compelled to derail the meeting to begin the attack on you? I’ve had a similar experience in the past from a customer I inherited from a rep who left the company. The customer was just trying to throw me under the bus so they had an excuse to leave and go work with their old rep at our competitor. It was a really crappy feeling, but they said their piece and I was happy to lose such a shady customer who didn’t have the balls to just say they wanted to leave.
