Facing UX Research Gap After 4 Years in UI/UX – Need Direction

Hi everyone,
I’m a UI/UX designer with 4 years experience but little hands-on UX research. I lost my job in mid-April due to downsizing and have been struggling to find work since. Bigger roles require research experience I don’t have yet. I’m looking for advice on how to quickly bridge this gap—volunteering, personal projects, or anything else. Based in Mohali with limited local options. Really need a job soon. Thanks!

732 applications the last 11 months that doesn’t include since the start of the pandemic looking for work. Out of that only 117 have been viewed that’s 6% viewed! the hiring process is completely broken, human resources, managers, and hiring managers are not capable! The same jobs open for 2 1/2 yrs reposting salaries after interviewing 100 then cutting the salary by up to $50k They say can’t find people but they fire you in 90 days when your working 80 hours a week or people are walking!
