I have heard that Goldman Sachs is rescinding offers of temporary contract workers. I have an offer letter from Goldman Sachs Bangalore for a full time permanent role and am already on notice period. I’m so very sorry. I wish it were different and so very desperately want the world to evolve. Please know that there are people out there who support you, and I don’t mean abstractly, but as safe spaces, as sponsors, as advocates and as enforcers of welcoming workspaces.
I’m not living in your shoes, I’m not facing both evil twins: racism and misogyny. I don’t know the ambivalence or hostility that accompanies a day in your life. I can imagine it can be crushing and steal your hope. But I am sending you the energy to have a deep conviction in your value, your abilities and your entitlement to your place in this profession. You belong here. You will claim your space, it just takes time and more trusted colleagues to help buoy you through the tough moments and celebrate the good ones. Keep doing your best to refuel emotionally, spiritually, physically when you need to (like now), hang onto your joy and hope, and persist. That darn arc towards justice is taking way, way too long but we continue to gain ground.

Yes! And the mental exercise every time before I speak so I don’t seem too “aggressive” or “angry” but also not “too passive”, ON TOP of having to use my mind for the actual job. I’m so tired.
