Excato, that happens almost everywhere. I am so tired of working so that the only ones who benefit are them. They could do so much more for us employees but they just don't do it.
It's so frustrating, luckily I got a place where my pay and tips are really good. But where I started was really a total disappointment.
Good for you!! Hoping to find a better place for myself soon too :
I second that! There are very good nights for me, but then some nights are awful, I feel like I waste my time waiting for patrons to come in.

Could you guys possibly talk to the owner of the restaurant to fix the situation? I know in other countries they don't rely on customers to survive, so why should we?
Ha I wish! sadly, I think this is just the state of things in this country
Because the entire restaurant model in the US is based on basically not having to pay staff any wages lol. Some states only require $2.13 an hour, which, after taxes is zero on your paycheck. Guests pay your wages so the restaurant can bring in a higher profit percentage.
