For anyone who’s transitioned from corporate to startup life (or vice versa), what was the hardest adjustment? I’ve been in startups for years and I’m realizing how different it feels when structure actually exists.

I went from a European startup to an American corporate culture, so some of the transition had to deal with cultural barriers and some were business structure differences. I would say the hardest thing for me was having to adjust how I approached colleagues and problems. In startups, it was a lot more casual, friendly, collaborative, but occasionally confrontational. People weren't afraid to have big ideas and strong opinions. Corporate culture has been a lot more passive, passive aggressive, safe, and guarded.

I actually really appreciated the structure when I switched. Someone with ADHD this bad needs that kind of structure.
