For those working remotely, how do you stay visible and keep growing your career?

I love the flexibility, but sometimes worry I’m not top of mind for new projects or promotions. Curious what’s worked for others to stay connected and keep momentum.

I have a manager who likes to manage and keep in touch with us, even if working remotely. That helps take away a lot of the ‘responsibility’ put on my plate to stay visible. I do make sure to keep goals that I can discuss with them, and just let them know I still have things I want to do here.

I think you have to stay extremely proactive and top of mind for people by always having your camera on, initiating social events where possible, volunteering for projects and staying involved in women's associations and conferences. I think it just requires more effort to be seen and known

I haven’t been using my remote job as a way to grow my career so much as a way to double dip and earn more money. Working remotely allows me to have multiple jobs or side gigs. It also allows me to have more freedom in my life when I don’t want to work multiple jobs. So I haven’t been all that concerned about rising up in one of my companies.
