I don't know who writes these absolutely useless articles.
AI? Maybe.
It starts by explaining to job seekers over 65 why they might be looking for a job. Seriously? Do you need someone to explain to you why you're looking for work? I certainly don't. Is it because the author of this "helpful material" believes people over 65 may have forgotten where they are and why they're there?
Then come several pieces of advice from Mr. Obvious, followed by the truly brilliant suggestion to start cold-calling employers.
Cold-calling as something to do this days when no one even pick up the phone from unknown caller? Seriously?
The author must really hate older people to recommend something like that. Right, if it's a business, someone will probably answer the phone. But who exactly does the author think will be on the other end? A receptionist? A secretary? A front desk employee?
And what, exactly, are these people supposed to tell the caller?
I'll play prophet and take a guess: they'll tell them to contact HR. And HR, in the best-case scenario, will say, "Send us your resume," which is simply the employment equivalent of, "Your call is very important to us. Please stay on the line."
