What was that trainwreck last night?!?!? I know we're not supposed to talk about politics, but my comment is bipartisan. Our gov is a mess and our leaders unbecoming! What will our students learn from this? What can we do to make it a teachable lesson?
I teach Economics and Personal Finance at a specialty school. I use NGPF for personal finance but I am seeking Economics lessons for G&T
What is the best lesson plan template you have used? I need something quick but detailed to use weekly.
Are you recording and posting all of your live lessons for absent students to watch later?
SO and I moved into a loft style apartment where the walls only go up about 80% of the way (there’s 2 ft gap between the wall and ceiling) this has made co working from home a nightmare, even getting a plate from the kitchen is perfectly audible from the bedroom. The place is awesome otherwise - any creative solutions from other fish in similar situations? Considering this a life lesson…
How do you make snowboarding trips more affordable? First timer and can drive to mammoth/lake tahoe so that saves on airfare, but b/w just the 2.5hr lesson, gear rental, clothing rental, and 3 day lift tickets, that’s $1000 alone. I wanna do it before my body can’t handle an activity like that (I have patellar tendonitis, herniated disc) but man, this trip is costing more than half of what I predict one of our Euro trips next year will cost. No wonder I never went growing up 😔
QQ for any TTP users: what would you recommend as the most accelerated use of the portal? I have my GMAT in about 10 days. I've had access for half a month and I'm through ~20% problems. I've only targeted sections where I felt I needed the most improvement mainly focusing on chapter tests. If I haven't met the accuracy needed, I've then spent time on the lessons and usually hit the accuracy after. For additional context, aiming for Q47+. I was on a Q45 on a Veritas mock last week.
I've been "voluntold" to demo an "enrichment lesson" to be filmed and broadcast on our school district tv channel. I'm totally drawing a blank on what to do...what is broadly appealing from US hist?
Really? Y’all didn’t know that it was him? Well, I hope you know. Learn a lesson in democracy, yet?
Can anyone share what books they read out to kids for bed time reading or in general? Anything that is engaging or with good morals/ life lessons
We just started using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System in our programs to measure quality of interactions and lesson plans. I think it's been one of the most meaningful tools for providing feedback to teachers.
I've been teaching astronomy and running the school planetarium for 5 years now. Just thought it would be nice to share lessons or planetarium shows with others to generate new ideas
People need to realize how the world works, hedge funds will not be left holding the bag of trash. Money is king and shocker, they have more than us retail investors. This was an expensive lesson for many and not to gamble what they can’t afford to lose
Groomed and rode my lesson horse today. What a beautiful end to a busy day. Sleep well everyone ❤️
The Anthony Joshua vs. Ruiz fight poses an interesting lesson for todays political climate - don’t underestimate Mexico... On a more serious note - JA what happened??
What lessons, activities, and/or projects have you used with your 3rd/4th and/or 4th/5th Gifted and Talented students during distance learning?
Best money tracking app you use ? I know personal capital, Nerd wallet, Mint, clarity Money. Any other suggestions ? I would like track my money from my bank account and also my investment account from Fidelity and Robinhood and also track my spending from my CC - Citi, discover, chase etc.
How difficult (relatively) is it to recruit for an MBB London office from a T15 US MBA program compared to a US office? I know it's not done often, but is that mainly due to the salary difference?
Starting at Accenture next week and wondering if there are any options to expense work from home stuff equipment as monitors? Thanks!
Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾
Anyone go from a big 4 to a boutique? Pros/cons?
How do you ask for a raise? And I do mean quite literally what words do you say. I have a mid year review coming up and I want to ask. Just finished my first year, started at a very low salary (65k) for defense litigation associate and no raise yet. I am in a state where wages are lower than the big cities but I still think this is too low given partners make 250k-500k/year. Thanks.
Sitting behind Ben Carson, from ATL to FLL, wonder what he thinks of the debate last night. Famous people that you saw on the flight?
How much do people save, pre and post tax, including 401k contributions? I’m 2 years out of college, no debt, making 90k a year, saving around 30% pre tax a year, wondering how others think about this
How important is it to get your CPA in the long run/ outside of big 4? Would CFE be beneficial? I’m a forensics staff.
I'd love to hear about what people are doing to stand out in providing feedback for candidates who made it to the final interview stage but did not make the offer.
Partner poll - is COVID causing you to fundamentally rethink whether you want to stay in consulting? Cannot stop thinking about using this disruptive moment to hang my own shingle and do something completely different - buy/start a small business. 22 years in consulting. Partner 7 yrs. Young family.
If you were applying to grad school (MBA) and had someone offering to write a rec letter what traits would you ask them to focus on? Rephrased, what traits would selection committees be most interested in?
Asking on behalf of my parent who I think is severely under compensated and needs to go elsewhere: - Associate Director at a F100 w/15+ YOE in this industry - Has an MBA and a PMP - Engineering background (foreign country) with program/project/portfolio management experience in current role Currently making $130-$150K with like a $20-30K bonus. What’s a realistic salary target? Always been a high performer but because English isn’t the first language I worry they’ve been taken advantage of.
I am looking to gain certification or other credentialing in diversity and inclusion, not only because it would look good on my resume both for future job-search purposes and also to become better educated in this area, which is growing in importance. I looked at SHRM's "Inclusive Workplace Culture Specialty Credential" and got a bit of "sticker shock" at the cost - $1,655.00 for members. Does anyone have other suggestions on training/credentialing in this area?
Any Latinos feeling left out of all this diversity buzz? Seems we are always invisible :/
I had this weird dream that leadership announced we will be getting the whole month of August off without having to use our PTO 🤣🤣🤣
In a relationship with an Indian guy, he has not told his parents about us yet. His parents are forcing him to talk to another girl for some time now. He tells me today that he will have to talk to her he cannot screw his relationship anymore with his parents. So heart broken 😞
