Maybe it's the impending doom of WWIII, US involvement in another endless regime change war, riots in the streets, political assassinations ... can't imagine that any company or team has great morale right now. I know mine certainly does not.
You are joking right?
For months now, I have seen the same jobs posted on repeat. I don't think anyone is hiring at this point. They are all just pretending so that they could mess with my head.
I did get 2 job interviews last week. Both passed on me. But prior to that, I had 1 job interview in just over 3 months.
It's so brutal.
Yeah! Same goes to me
What you're seeing could be the summer slowdown effect. But I suspect it's also related to the trade war and tariffs and the credible predictions of a recession. Companies seem wary of doing any hiring if they're concerned they may be trimming their workforce later in the year.
I've been job hunting too, and the last couple of weeks have been weirdly quiet. I think it might be a mix of end-of-quarter slowdown and vacations. I’ve seen this happen around the same time in past years, too.
This is typical defensive behavior ahead of an expected recession. Firms will tighten the ranks and slow hiring.
