Have you ever hit “send” on a follow-up email and then immediately wondered, “Am I being helpful… or just annoying?” 😅 I recently heard someone say that follow-ups can feel like nagging, Well, if I don’t get a response (or even a quick acknowledgment) to my original email, I’m left hanging. What's your perspectives? I feel like this is one of those things we all quietly wrestle with.

I usually wait as long as I can for follow-ups, and it’s all determined by the urgency of the ask. If I emailed them on Monday and something is due by end of the week and it’s Thursday, I’ll probably send them a teams message asking if they saw my email. If it’s not due until the end of the month, I’ll probably wait until there’s a week left before reaching out (pending I know I’ll have time to complete it within that time frame)

That makes a lot of sense. Timing it based on urgency keeps things moving without coming across as pushy.

I’m the type of person who appreciates those follow-ups. I’d rather have that than a bigger issue down the road because I missed something or whatever. It is situation-dependent. I’m sure somebody out there takes it as an insult, but overcommunication (within reason) saves so much time.

I’m with you overcommunication (within reason) usually prevents way bigger headaches later. I’d personally much rather get a reminder than let something slip through the cracks.

I'm annoying and I make no apologies for it. If completing my work depends on somebody else completing their work, then I'm going to want to know where they are in the process. If they are not communicating effectively with me, then I'm going to be in regular contact with them.

Totally fair! if your work depends on theirs, staying on top of it isn’t annoying, it’s just being responsible.

I’ve seen follow-ups land really well when they’re framed as adding value, like a quick update or extra resource, instead of just a “checking in.” How did you write yours?

That’s a great point. I try to add value when I follow up if I can, but honestly, a lot of the time I’m just asking for information from them, so I just don’t have much to offer in return.

I always appreciate a follow up email. If anyone has an issue with it they should feel comfortable enough to mention it!

Young solo here w/ a question about fees: 1. A local solo criminal defense attorney has offered to pay me to go and make appearances before the Court on some of her cases to make announcements. (For example, “ready when reached”). I’m open to doing this and this attorney is asking what my fee would be? Does anyone have thoughts or opinions on what a reasonable fee would be to do something like this? Hourly? Flat Fee? 2. I want to ensure this is ethical. I don’t see an issue with this. Thoughts?

Hi everyone. I'm in the process of building a SaaS startup. Someone with SaaS experience has advice on marketing the product for B2B?

Still learning the music business but have been in it for past few years. Built great relationships with a lot of artists at labels - i don’t have a law degree but would it be possible to partner with an attorney and source deals for them in exchange for a commission?

Anyone working in Wells Fargo know about Loudspeaker program? How that is for growth? I have a good offer from them and good hike on my current compensation but not sure about the role.
And the position of Senior Business Executive Consultant is in what hierarchy ? I have 8 years of workex (MBA).

SAFe SPC certified. 5 years of agile project, program management and release train engineer experience. Anyone looking to hire? Not a fan of PwC. Leaders in my area are frustratingly uninspiring.

Hi all, does anyone have a good framework they would recommend for developing HCP/physician communication strategies and defining tactics for HCP engagement (outside of pharma reps)? There is of course a ton out there for patient communications such as patient journey mapping but engaging HCPs is a very different beast. Looking for something a bit more nuanced than a traditional consumer framework. Thanks!

Accountability correlates with Responsibility in this way: When a person accepts personal responsibility for how his/her actions and decisions impact and influence the lives of others, said person holds him-/herself accountable and accepts being accountable to others for the equity and inclusion (or lack thereof) in their spheres of influence.
