I have interview scheduled and completed from Commonwealth Bank Bangalore location. All technical rounds cleared.
When I called HR i got a surprise answer..
They mentioned the position which I have intervied is different than the salary rem ranges. And my current salary is higher than position what they have got and asked for approval for rem ranges changes..
Is any one faced this? Ideally HR should know expectation and allocation before scheduling intervjew..

Reasons for negativity:
A lot of QA, BA and non developers were fired. Yes ,it didn't happen suddenly.
They carved out a plan to transition, but unfortunately many could not clear it.
Although many of the folks believe they were not transitioned on purpose even though their bar raiser interview went well.
Due to mass firings of a lot of these folks who were there for 2,3,4 years the image has been such.
The company also keeps adopting new processes and frequently changes them.
Right now , the company has been hiring devs, engineers and wants to be on fully dev mode.
The company is heavy on ai adoption and wants the team members to do anything that is required which means you may need to work outside your main skill as well .
@engineer don't try to prove anything here we all know what's going on in CBA india , you can't justify that , I heard they didn't even give severance pay to many people , as started by above This org by not any means is stable and does not have any future unless you are very expert in politics and bootlicking
One of my former colleagues joined CBA as a Senior QA as well then resigned when things escalated man. They are a shit show now. Everyone is expected to know everything say you are a QA then you'd need to be a DEV, a DevOPs, a Scrum Master etc. etc., you understand where am I going now. He left and joined somewhere else and is super happy about it.
Is it the same for all the roles ? Even for data roles like data science, data engineer
There is lot of uncertainty. Today they will take some decision like everyone has to complete AWS certification, and after few days they say its no more a KPI. Similarly they asked many QAs to leave the organisation but now they are searching dev people who is strong in QA. Taking random decision will impact employee life.. They are in rat race to survive
They don't know what they are doing :) trying random things and creating more confusion
There is alot of politics as well , beyond a limit and changes are sudden and no visibility/ roadmap for India center MD left/fired within 1 year , people are under constant anxiety that what would happen to their role
Pro
Now they are again going to fire some good number of peoples.....
Next year again the plan is there...
So, better to avoid this kind of unstable company. Here everyone is kind of open to job searching...
Yes its same for every role.. its going to be tech company so everyone should know everything
