Hello! I am moving from NYC to Dallas in a few months. I currently don’t own a car so I am researching now on what vehicle to lease for the next 3 years. I’ve been told from someone who lives in Texas that it is not safe to get a small car because the roads there are “rough” and that most drivers own suvs or trucks and drive really fast on the highways. I applied for a lateral job in a growing group that doesn’t have associates yet. I talked to a sr. associate in a different office/group to get a better sense of the firm’s vibe and we both really enjoyed our call. He kindly offered to recommend an interview to HR. Is there anything else I can do? I would be switching practices altogether so I want to be as proactive as possible to know what I’m getting myself into (and make my app more favorable because I really want to break into the field).
