Hi! Does anyone know what kind of knowledge is needed to crack the Data Scientist interview at Google? I'm currently working in Marketing Analytics (primarily using SQL and a bit of pyspark). Apart from mastering SQL, I wanted to know from people working at Google what does it take to get there as a Data Scientist? (I'm very interested in Strategy Ops) I plan to another 6-8 months in preparation and upskilling myself before I even apply. Any help and guidance is appreciated! Thanks :)
Help! Need some tips on negotiating. Step by step. SC at Deloitte offered at AWS for L5 data scientist. Big raise to $240k TC. 3 YOE+MS. Word of mouth says that this is a good offer for my location (DC). I have a bunch of questions and I'm also looking for any tips for anything I'm missing. -Even if it's a good offer, is there always $ on the table to ask for? -I have a final interview elsewhere this Thursday. Should I start negotiating now or wait until I hear on the other option? ...
Does anyone know the position ladder for Data Scientist at FAANG or similar tech firms? I will be applying to an Engineering Masters after my undergrad ends (in 1 year). Just wanted to get an idea on what positions I can apply to after the Masters to get to a Data Scientist position. Any insights are appreciated!
What types of industry roles at FAANG or tech realistically would interview me? 3 YOE consulting at a big 4. Projects include data science, data analytics/visualization, and digital marketing T20 undergrad and well versed in the typical data science toolkit (applied math degree, strong understanding of ML and statistics, some programming experience, python, r, etc.) I was thinking of trying for decision scientist/data scientist/bizops/BI roles but was curious where other people landed

Hey I am interviewing for a Sr Data Scientist role at a growing ( well funded) pretty secure startup. Interview process so far has been; recruiter interview, technical interview with scientist, interview with hiring manager; and then I was invited to their virtual on-site which included a “short” presentation ( up to a half hour!) and 5 more one-on-one interviews. I wasn’t told anything specific about the one-on-ones - but they all ended up including technical whiteboard coding. Is that normal?
Hey everyone, I have been trying to break into the data science world as a strategy consultant. Have put in numerous hours after work and on weekends to learn programming/ DS and algorithms, ML, and statistics. I now have a pretty good resume of personal projects, but am having trouble getting any interviews. Should I go get an MS or keep on trying to find a job as a data scientist? Thank you for the advice.

Hi folks. I’m a data scientist at a T2/B4 firm that does fairly technical work. I am prepping for interviews to transition to SWE-data at a big tech company and currently have a little over 1 yoe. Since prep usually takes a while for swe, I have not started seriously applying. However, I am likely to receive an offer for 110-120k at another consulting firm. I was hoping to get some thoughts from other technical folks that made the transition. More in comments
Hi folks. I’m currently a data scientist at a T2/B4 firm doing fairly technical work. I have a little over 1 yoe but have recently decided I want to switch to SWE (but still in the data domain) in tech. I think I have a lot I want to learn from tech-first companies that my current firm doesn’t prioritize. I am still in the middle of interview prep but am likely to get a 110-120k offer from a different consulting firm in a non-hcol city. Any advice? More in comments

Any advice on how to get into the sales side of Investment Banking? I have above average experience, have a finance background degree but keep failing the initial application stages (before the interview stages) and then watch people on LinkedIn with less experience get roles with top banks. I understand that I need to figure out how to get past the application tracking systems but it can be really frustrating at times and advice online is often very generic (I.e. tell them about yourself).
Any tips and tricks on PE interview model exams? Concepts and structure is there, but what strategies can you employ to be as efficient as possible when building under the tight timelines?

Is it better to wait until promo before switching to other firms? Applying to MBB but worried that if I get the offer I’ll end up switching right before I get my promo from Deloitte. I would likely reset to entry level at MBB either way but the pay would be a substantial bump from my current pay (even after promo). I’m in my second year at Deloitte out of undergrad.
Help: The 2 interviews in this round are a week apart, I just had the 2nd interview and realized I didn’t send a thank you note to the 1st interviewer… is it better to only send to 2nd interviewer or send a one-week late thank you note to 1st interviewer?

Got a slightly low offer on a job I interviewed for. Is it just generally accepted that offers have some wiggle room to negotiate? Would be happy with another 10-15k.

Non tech background so this is a lot of $ for me but feel strong towards going to strategy for a year then go to tech. I see a ton of value in strategy cons exp in terms of learning about business problems and being in the room w decision makers. Facing a ton of pressure (mostly from parents to go to pltr for the money) to take pltr. Stressed abt this

Which are the best programs in the T30 schools for international business? And would it be better to pursue an MBA with a global focus in the US or try to get into a school like LBS, INSEAD, IMD etc.? Thanks for your thoughts!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Excluding doctors and lawyers, do you think that it is fair to say that working as a consultant is a lot more demanding that many other business jobs? (Billable hours, 24/7 availability, etc..)
