I think about walking out for lunch and not returning…every single day. It’s a true bummer, and it’s NOT the kids.

I wonder sometimes if I had more money, would I teach?
I usually give them a 2 weeks notice. At that point it’s up to them on what they want to do.

True. Sometimes I feel guilty, but I know it is not my problem to leave them and deal with finding someone to take my place.
2 weeks, but sometimes I think about just walking out...

I hear that, too.
I resigned in December that I was not renewing my contract the following June… I was so done I didn’t even want to wait and I was so happy when I resigned…

That sounds like when you know it's not a good fit.
I have my current principal a year’s notice about my retirement next June because he is an extremely rare, intelligent, and kind human being to all of us, staff and students alike. If I had retired under our former principal, I would have given two weeks notice and called in sick for the entire time that’s how toxic he was to our workplace.

I think that's fair. If you have created an environment of positivity and encouragement and respect, that is different than one of toxicity.
We are required to give 60 day notice or the district can have your cert suspended.

Wow, that's terrible.

I’m not notifying the district of my retirement until the day before Christmas break bc then I’m DONE 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thank you but now that my husband was diagnosed with cancer (in a polyp-colon), I’m waiting until we have all the information- we go back for another test on Monday the 4th 🤞🏼

Usually 2 weeks, but as soon as I know and can get out, I will try to give notice.

That's normally my plan, too.
