Hey everyone! I just started my current position and I'm wondering how long everyone here has been teaching? Do you feel like your career is rewarding?

25 years, and yes, rewarding. Some years have been harder than others but overall, I am glad that this is my career path.

I'm sure there are times that it has been frustrating. Teaching is definitely a labor of love.

I am in years 32. I have always loved teaching, and I have taught at every level except High School and college.

26 years for me, and yes it has been rewarding, especially seeing my students grow up to be respected and responsible adults.

That's so cool to be able to look back and see the difference you've made!Congrats on 26 years.

15 years and ABSOLUTELY. I worked in the public sector before teaching, and it was all about the profits. When I started teaching, it became all about the students and how I could help them make a difference in our community and beyond. There are hard and long days, I have been called everything in the book, but it is all worth it when you hear one student say, "Thank you, I never would have made it without you."

Awe that's beautiful ❤️. I'm so happy to hear that .

35 years!! I still love coming to school every day!! Yes some days suck, but overall love it. I also teach special education.

That's amazing! Good for you!

I've been in public schools for 24 years and am retiring at the end of this year. It stopped being rewarding about 4 years ago, when they moved from the elementary level to the middle school and then the high school. the move was predicated by the implementation of STEM Centers in the elementary buildings. I'm all for STEM but when your school serves students age 5-10, it needs a library. I had many parents tell me that when they voted for the mileage for the STEM Center they did not know hey would lose their library. I told them that neither did the staff. So yes, that was probably the start of my disillusionment with my career.

That's really frustrating. I've had similar things happen with local government where I didn't know what I really voted for. I definitely wish they would make the changes it will cause more clear.

42 years. Yes there are rewarding parts to the job. I love the students and truly enjoy being around them. It is interesting to watch them become responsible adults. It's rewarding to see students 5,10,15,20 years down the road to see what they have become.
Admin. not so much.

That's really beautiful ❤️. I can't wait until I'm at the point where I can look back and remember students from years ago.

20 years - not really.

Preschool may be different.

I used to be a nurse and now I have been teaching for 5 years. It is rewarding but also stressful at times

Hi! I'm currently interviewing (3/6 interviews so far) for for an appeals manager role for DME. The job entails not only to bill for dme (cms 1500) but also to follow up on any denials or appeals, amongst other administrative duties. My questions are is it typical to have 1 person doing both the billing and denials within a new vertical for all ins.? How difficult is billing for dme as I only have experience in gyn onc and lactation billing? What's a fair salary? I have 8+ yoe in rcm, no certs.

Leave KPMG alone 🤣

I work for an ins. Company for 3 years as a case manager. I started at 70k, and have met goals and performed well, meeting all expectations required. I now only make around 75k. Recently another teammate, who has only been here for 3 months was offered between 80-85k to retain her, but she declined to make 6 figures as a COO. I, in-turn, am asking for an increase in salary. We just started a specialty program where I am doing 2-3 times the expected amount of work and now EXCEEDING
