Hey all, Been out of work for about a year now, been interviewing and actively since being laid off due to companys budget cut. Was in final / decision rounds before covid and everything has been tbd or rescinded since. Responses have been few and far in between and now the year gap is becoming a concern. Would like to ask if anyone has tips or can point me in the right direction. I come from a management consulting/prod mgt background in tech. Disregard the risk consultant title.
Gmail for work email = 100% always petrified I'm going to accidentally reply to the wrong email in the conversation thread and get promptly fired.
My boss called me in today to tell me layoffs are coming and I will be on the chopping block. How do I show my worth as a last ditch effort?
For those that are depressed and struggling in the agency world. I made it through 5 forced hospital visits including being forcibly tied to a bed twice just for talking a little too fast, after being fired for being gay, and now I have my own venture. It does get better. You will get better. Your life is not worth the grind. You have worth. Here's art therapy I did for months to feel better. I hope it helps create some understanding of the seriousness of mental illness in the industry.
Could people share some “I got laid off and it turned out to be great” stories? Granted I’m sure none of those stories involve being laid off in a global pandemic like I just was.
What are some activities I can do with my parents? They’ve been stuck at home and seem kind of down :/ dad got laid off. They used to travel a ton. I want to plan some activities for us as a family but not too many ideas coming to mind

Has anyone ever been laid off / transitioned out because they weren't promoted to the next level within a specified timeframe? How did you approach that topic when interviewers ask why you left?
Got laid off about 8 weeks ago. I’ve interviewed with multiple companies, but have not received any offers. I’m starting to get anxious about my career. If anyone got an offer, can you please share some insights on what helped or didn’t help secure a role? Maybe job leads, resume/interview tips. Thank you!!
fellow fishes who is looking to exit but is unsure of or are not getting good ops - hang in there. If I can do it you can too. Was laid off exactly a month back and now I am in local gig (contd)
got laid off in a smaller market. thinking about moving but my partner is committed to living here long term. there aren’t many agencies around. what do I do?
What will rebounding after COVID look like? After layoffs, office closures etc. How long could it take to break back in now that networking opportunities have changed, offices are remote, hiring and positions open are limited in comparison to the numbers let go? How realistically will people not be able to reclaim a job in this industry? How long is too long of gap due to COVID and will companies ie (young recruitment teams who are naive) overlook thise gaps due to the economy?
For those who were affected by Agency layoffs, how long did it take for you to get back on your feet and find a new position?
Can I be fired for constantly getting same feedback from my engagement managers that I need to pay attention to details? How do I improve on this?
So how are we doing financially this year? Are we meeting revenue goals? Really would like a good raise this year.
Uber driver started talking now about drones and how they watch every move you make. I rolled my eyes. Then he said they zoom into your hair follicles. And I became engaged because...Hair follicles??
So I'm interviewing at the newly formed In-House Agency at Verizon next week. Any advice? Also, am I a moron for entertaining this?

Pro tip: never EVER take a project that splits your time between different roles and multiple managers. You can never make everyone happy because they are always competing to be your top priority...
Even if the allegations against him are fiction, with his rage against “the Clintons” and “the left” that Judge K spoke about in his opening statement, how can someone that biased be on the SCOTUS?
Im a 2nd year tax staff at one of the B4 with 1.5 years of experience. I’m looking to explore other PA companies but the positions ask for 3+ years of experience. Do I have a shot when applying with
I’m a 27 year old attorney with 2 years of experience. Due to a very strange set of circumstances, my small firm is downsizing- leaving me in a position with WAY more responsibilities than I feel I have the experience to handle. The pay bump is sizable though and I’m sure I can get up to speed, at least in the substantive aspects of the kind of law the firm practices... Any advice on jumping into the deep end??
Anyone else unapologetically ignore emails this weekend? Someone gave me a project on Friday and said they’ll be available over the weekend if needed. Nah. You’ll get my questions Tuesday morning.
Seen a lot of posts on tech relating to FAANG and unicorns recently regarding exit ops, interviews, and roles. Created this for sharing insights and general networking. Open to all, but I encourage those already in tech to join and help others out. https://joinfishbowl.com/bowl_3kokw4
