I am not sure what industry you are in but you sound like a great fit for leading a sales team. You should join the Women in Sales bowl to get advice.

I also am not sure what you mean by burden. But the higher you go in a company, the less of a clown you should be. You don’t have to lose your sense of humor but don’t be a 🤡. Maybe you’re grappling with this?
Use this as an opportunity to grow. Having a situational awareness and adapting your behavior to it is critical to succeeding both professionally and personally. While being friendly at work is integral, if you’re managing people, there is a thing as being too friendly and vice versa - too serious where people are more casual. And if it becomes unbearable after you’ve made efforts to improve, look elsewhere for a better fit. Just my 2 cents with encountering this over the years. Everyone’s story is different tho. Hang in there.
Sounds like those you work with don’t appreciate your humanity…your spirit. Maybe try to explain your life thoughts on things periodically (why so serious?!). If that doesn’t start to get them, realizing that you are using your powers for good, then it sounds like maybe you need to get into a different team atmosphere… Whether that be a different department at your company or
What do you mean by it being a burden? Is it just a feeling of imposter syndrome or something that you must overcome? Or do you feel you are expected to always put on a performance and that makes you unhappy?
Great questions. I had to think about these. I don’t think it could be imposter syndrome I definitely feel I belong in the room. I think could be more of the 2nd part
I feel the same. My company is so broke and worried about claims we have to communicate like robots. It’s almost like I can’t have a personality but then if I don’t and people naturally hate working here because culture AND comp suck I’ll get blamed for not intriguing or engaging them???? Wtf
Q: are you by chance on a new team or at a new company? I’m curious if this is a culture fit thing vs a growth thing.
I have been with the same company from15+ years and in my role for 4yrs. Always been kind of quirky.
