Hi all! What is the going rate for gift cards for daycare teachers? This is our first holiday and I’m not sure what appropriate. My mom said between $50-100 per teacher (there’s 3 of them). They are great - we love the daycare… I just don’t want to over/under do it. My son is 15 months so they’re all pretty hands on!

It's literally not possible to overdo it other than the impact to your personal budget. They make so little and they are doing such important work, I always lean toward being as generous as I can in situations like this.

We did $50 per teacher and another $50 as a classroom gift.

Anything that you are inspired to do is great!

This is our first year too, but we were planning to do $100/each for our daughter’s 2 main teachers and the 2 subs for her class.

Will my kid’s teachers hate me because I gave them thoughtful bags with treats, a nice candle, and a self care item and no cash? I wrote a card that is incredibly grateful and thankful and personal. We are really in a bad spot financially right now and the school is so expensive and we are paying for 2 weeks that the school is closed.

They won’t hate you, but next time I would skip the candle and self care item and get them a $5-$10 gift card to a coffee shop.

Yeah ours has four in daycare and the owner suggested chocolates when I asked if they had a teacher fund.

We’re doing chocolates plus $50 gift cards

Wow!! I only did $15 per teacher and have done the same when my oldest was in daycare

Thank you all! Are you giving gift cards or cash?

I did gift cards but the school had the teachers share their stores of interest. For the classroom gift I did Amazon

Should lead teachers get more than assistants?

I don’t even know how many teachers my son has and who are actually his teachers, every other day I see teachers switching btw classes, I had not planned for this, and it is too late rt now
Is it bad if I skip this year?

Could just do a new years gift! Otherwise could wait until something like teacher appreciation week 😊

Hi,
I graduated last year and was working with my university until last month. I extended my STEM OPT with my university before July 5th (first year OPT expiry). I got a new opportunity right after submitting my application & I notified my change in employer (submitted updated I-20 & I-983).
Last Friday, I got another opportunity that is way better than the current one and I don't want to miss. My STEM OPT application is still under review. Would it be okay if I change my employer again. Thanks!

Does anyone have a preferred car service company? I am looking for a service that can consistently provide traveler alerts such as when car has arrived, passenger is on board, trip competed, etc. across US cities. Thank you!
