Former KPMG fish, when you got severance, was it lump sum or paid out like your normal paycheck?
Follow up re KPMG layoffs. They said this will be it for a RIF. (I hope so but don’t trust them.) 20 opted in, 35 moved to another position in the Firm and 15 were being let go. That makes 70 total when they told us only 60 people would be impacted.
I’ve got a really good job. Wasn’t looking to move but a big 4 consulting firm reached out. I received a very generous/life changing offer. I’m so worried about work/life balance if I take this offer. Also worried about layoffs in a year or two when the market gets back to normal. I’ve got an infant and a 5 year old. I know that I can manage my current workload. I don’t want to pass up a great opportunity but I’ve got to be available for my family too!
I just recently left big 4 in July to pursue a role at a fintech company. It seemed great during the interview but once I got here it was very unorganized, not clear which team I would support, etc. Long story short, I was told we would have a hybrid work schedule and we are now required to go in-office full time 5 days a week and there have been a ton of layoffs recently. Should I stick it out or look for something else even though I’ve only been here 2 months?
Please help to choose between 2 offers. 1. EY gds 2. Accenture Which one will be better in terms of WLB, job security and for the long term (considering layoffs in ACN)?
Hi All I came across this disturbing answer about layoffs in deloitte usi. I am about to join and can deloitte professionals shed some light on what was it like when layoffs happened in 2020. Is it a common practice? Because till now I had only heard good things abount job security in deloitte usi.
Seeing all these Deloitte "tellyourstory" posts on LinkedIn and no one is telling their story about the forced pay cuts or unnecessary layoffs.
Hi, I have an offer from mindtree and EY gds. #MINDTREE is providing good salary on top of EY. I have no idea about mindtree can you please help me about mindtree, will there be any layoffs in mindtree.
Looks like a massive Exodus happened in Deloitte? Trying to staff a project and there is literally no one to staff with (at least Salesforce practice) and we are having to reach out to contractors. Is this a result of layoffs that happened last year and folks are purely unhappy with pay (not considering project pressure as that can vary/be subjective)? For folks who have been here for a long time, is this a common occurrence or is it especially bad this time around?
Happy busy Monday Tax Bowls! 😘 I got 4 senior tax associate offers from small, medium and 2 of the big fours ( EY and Deloitte). Please see details below and tell me. what would you do if.... 🧑🏼🦽🐥 1- Currently working at upper tier public accounting firm as an experienced associate.🦂 2- End goal is to be a partner.🦋🦋🦋 3- Big four Deloitte had layoffs during pandemic?/EY has people oriented? 4- Small firm less hours?/ more money?/ no branding?
Did Deloitte’s layoffs impact the HCM practice? They seem to be hiring like crazy. Just received an offer.
Were there any layoffs in EY FAAS practice in last 5 years in Chicago office? How stable is EY FAAS?
Currently with a Salesforce boutique prod and consulting firm as a Manager and make around $135k base with 5% bonus. Very good WLB and loyalty perks. 0% Travel. No layoffs at all. I got an offer from Deloitte for a Sr Consultant position with the base of 145k. Yet to negotiate. I have total 7 yoe. Is this the right move considering just $10k increase in pay? How much Deloitte brand matters for exit ops? I prefer good WLB if not great and prefer travel to be under 50%
I need help: In consulting interviews, is it a death sentence to have been part of the COVID-related layoffs at a Big 4 strategy arm? I have now been rejected from two other T2 strategy firms, and apparently the feedback is that “I have great experience” but they “are not moving forward with my candidacy”. I’m getting beaten down here. I have 10 years consulting experience, 7 at health plans, 5 in strategy, and 3 as a manager. I know my industry, function, and story. What am I missing?
Remember when firms like BCG were bashing Big 4 firms for their response to the pandemic with layoffs? Funny how things change
Can anyone speak to the culture of the Workday practice at Deloitte? Ive now had 2 recruiters reach out to me to interview. Is there a lot of growth or is this due to previous layoffs?
How bad were the Deloitte COVID layoffs? I’ve seen things mentioned in this bowl, but know that people often exaggerate. I’m interviewing with D right now, but am not sure I’d want to join if they really are very layoff-happy.
How is PwC’s Operations Consulting Practice (Advisory) in terms of WLB, culture and layoffs?

Is EY doing layoffs again in January and April?
Anyone here ex-EY have had issues in getting their severance? It’s taking more than a month or more after the separate date to get the final severance amount. Is there is reason for this much delay? Or is it normal?
Heard about the layoffs KPMG, stay strong ✊🏼
Got laid off but found a job. Unfortunately I can’t start for like 2 months. Any ideas on jobs I could do in the meantime? Can’t drive so no Uber. Willing to do minimum wage, anything will help
If you are not married or without your own family, would you move back with your parents if you have been laid off? Or would you dip into savings / unemployment to keep the lights on?
The only shortlists I care about right now are the ones finance is making. Congrats you are not being laid off and have moved to the final round of judging.
Hey guys I also got laid off at D. 1 year experience as a BTA>S&A>CCG. Would anybody mind helping a mate out with any referrals? Would love to discuss over DM. Appreciate your help, thank you so much!
Has anyone come back from being put on a PiP? My colleague just got one and is freaking out - her manager is overallocated like crazy, the other two media planners were laid off, and she’s the only one left standing. Her boss says she’s making too many mistakes - but they’re so short staffed. Any hope, or should she start looking now?
Claim unemployment or try to find your hardest to find a job in the next month and omit the layoff? I want to rush but not settle. Definitely don't want to go back into consulting.
After getting laid off 2 weeks ago, I fired off about 20 resumes to different places. I have not received any feedback at all. Any ideas how to get past the computer and in front of someone?
If you were to be laid off or fired today. How long do you think it take the average person to find a née job?
What are the reasons partners get fired (besides sexual harassment and expense report fraud)? What keeps a partner from coasting and raking in the bucks?
I’m 29, at my first serious job, and am getting fired (not laid off). Feel like an idiot, and don’t know anyone else my age who has been fired. If you’ve been fired, can you tell me about it? I’m LA based in PR & Comms.
Finally got my YE! Was hoping to at least get a 3 after hearing about all the layoffs and the 4's going around. Got a 2 and I am EXTREMELY relieved! 🙌🏻🎉 Now I can really start my weekend! 😎🍾
Once laid off by a specific employer, do people ever go back to work for that same employer? For example, all the people laid off from Deloitte, will they ever work for Deloitte again in the future? Assuming there were performance issues.
It's kinda bullshit that a lot of us worked hard to get into consulting and now have to deal with layoffs. While others are enjoying safe decent paying jobs even though they slack off.
Well fuck. I got laid off. Just when you think you’re in the clear, 2020 brings the pain. Guess it’s true that the big title comes with a big target.
Got laid off - need legal advice on release agreement / severance document. Do y’all have any free legal resources or an org / law firm that I can contact to seek advice? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
If you get fired due to performance issues can you still file for unemployment? If so, will you get enough money for rent and food?
If anyone deserves to have layoffs, it’s those folks in TSA - Bunch of lazy people standing around and whiling their time chatting.
Currently a PhD at a M7. Veteran, and obviously used to be at EY. Currently in qualifying phase and starting to looking to post-PhD life. How do the firms differ in how they treat advanced degrees (ie stick to PhD area or are you a generalist)? How do federal vs commercial practices differ when recruiting advanced degrees? I recognize that there might be a pay differential (pay isn’t important, I don’t want to go back to B4 due to tax/consulting dichotomy), just would be great to be federal.
Does anyone have any experience with BCG Platinion Risk Consultant case study interviews? This is my first time doing a case study interview and I'm currently trying to prepare, but most case studies I have found online are more in management consulting. Thanks!
Guys need one suggestion, I am having an offer of 16 LPA , Before this offer, i gave interview in Capgemini and expected 15 LPA but they didn't came back to me, Suddenly HR called me today to offer 14 LPA. He is going to send that offer letter, Should i reject it or keep it as backup purpose.
Currently an MBA student about to start prepping for case interviews. If I start tomorrow, how many cases should I do per day to be ready for end of Nov case round 1? When do I know I’m ready?
Copying a similar post... can anyone speak to what the culture and busy season are like in London for FS? I’m considering a rotation and wondering if it’s worth it.
Thoughts on flying Southwest for work travel?
Do you have classroom pets? Our science teachers hamsters keep having hamsters lol. This is like the 4th set!
Anyone have advice regarding what it’s like to lateral? Like how was the experience integrating into the firm? Is it a lot like being a first year again where you need to prove your worth to everyone in order to get good work and feel okay setting boundaries? My biggest hesitation in accepting a new position is that I will have to go through the whole first year experience again (which I know is not a great reason, lol, but I am a first year and it’s been a tough year)
Flying into DCA, DC is one of the prettiest, greenest cities I’ve flown into. I was listening to Kygo so that could be it too.
If we’re working on a private audit are we allowed to tell people what client we’re working on
Hi FB! I’m looking to fill a Sr. Account Director role. It’s a boutique agency based in NYC, but remote is ok as we’re all remote at the moment. Luxury car experience is a plus!! Please DM me if you’re interested or know anyone who might be!
Consider a new pandemic, at what % fatality rate do you think vaccines will mandated by law for all citizens? This is not the last pandemic society will face. COVID has a low death rate compared to Ebola for example. What % fatality rate would it take for governments around the world including the US to legally require mandatory vaccinations of all citizens? Would it be 10%? 20? 50%? fatality rate? Or will we never mandate vaccines in lieu of personal freedom?
Would you leave as a senior associate to be in a director role at an energy company “chief is staff” reporting to CEO and CFO. Leading investor relations?
Does anyone else have that co worker that chats you all day like 24/7 during work hours? I’m happy to be friendly and fill extra time but it’s becoming annoying when I cannot walk away from Slack because I’m getting pings about their personal life. Advice to not ruin the relationship?
Do the exit opps get better after you hit 2 YOE? Every recruiter that contacts me gives me an insultingly low offer (below or at my current comp, which isn’t good to begin with). Any ways to increase the comp of my offers, or do I just have to wait? (And btw, these low offers are after negotiating)
