2020 grad M&A/PE Associate in LCOL area thinking about moving to a ECVC/M&A boutique. I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Will this ruin my opportunities down the road?

Hi Fishes, Need advise on tech stack. I am a Mainframe developer with 6+ years of experience. Which tech stack would be more suitable between Devops or Data Science or Mainframe modernization. I already resigned and have 2 months to join new company. Also please let me know if anybody have switched technology in current organisation or new organisation from mainframe and which company to target which could offer exposure to other technology along with Mainframe. For those that left without having your CPA license, can you tell me your interview experience and the role you left for? I’m in tax with 4 years of experience and still working on my exams.

Has anyone just taken a break from work without anything lined up? Every offer I’ve gotten wants me to start in a month and with 2 weeks notice that leaves me only 2 weeks to recharge. For my mental health I really think I need an extended break (like 3 months). I have about 60k liquid to sustain myself and pay about $1500 a month in rent.

Is is better to maintain connections w the junior team and how should I go about it w senior management? This is for general networking not that I’m trying to hop to a PE/other org immediately. TIA!
