Hi Eveveryone,
I have around 5 years and 10 months of experience, and my current CTC is ₹23 lakhs per annum.
Now, the same company is offering me two options:
- Dubai with a salary of 17,000 AED/month
- Bengaluru with a CTC of ₹30 lakhs per annum
I’d really appreciate your input on which option makes more sense. Do you think the Dubai offer is fair, or am I being lowballed in comparison?

Looking forward to your advice.

Did your considerations take taxes into account?

While the Dubai offer is attractive tax-wise, AED 17,000/month is slightly modest for nearly 6 years of experience—especially if it lacks additional benefits like housing or travel allowance. You might consider negotiating a better package or asking for a detailed breakdown of the Dubai offer (including perks, housing, insurance, etc.).

Ultimately, the right choice depends on your personal goals—whether you value international exposure or prefer maximizing savings and comfort in a known environment.

Wishing you all the best with your decision!

Thanks for the update!

It’s good to know that the Dubai offer includes health insurance, office commute, and a 1,500 AED annual flight allowance—those definitely help reduce out-of-pocket costs. That said, even with these benefits, AED 17,000/month still feels slightly below the typical market range in Dubai for someone with close to 6 years of experience, especially in tech or specialized roles.

If housing isn’t included, rent alone could take a significant chunk of the salary. You might want to negotiate for a housing allowance or a slightly higher base to make the move more financially viable—especially since relocating to a high-cost city comes with its own set of one-time and recurring expenses.

Of course, if the role offers strong international exposure, long-term career growth, or leadership opportunities, that could still make it a worthwhile step depending on your priorities.

Hope this helps! Let me know how things go

A couple questions for the turnaround consulting fishes:
1. Is FP&A experience valuable for restructuring/turnaround consulting? I’m a CPA with experience in Big 4 FDD and a short stint in IB. Total work experience is a little over 2 years. I recently joined a RE company as a Sr FA in FP&A where I expect that I’ll be mostly doing budgeting & forecasting work.
2. If my goal is turnaround consulting, what should I focus on right now to best position myself?

I appreciate any insights/guidance.
