It’s not anything you’re doing wrong. It’s the job market. Going into IT right now is a little rough. A lot of companies have laid off their IT departments or they are outsourcing their IT work. Have you tried applying for jobs at like marketing agencies? Usually they keep an IT specialist on staff for their clients.
I will keep note of this, thank you 🙏
Volunteer opportunities can be a great way to get experience while you are still looking for the right fit. Helpdesk and IT support roles can also be a good entry-level role to look into. I hear tech is hard right now, and the overall market isn’t much better.
Thank you for your helpful feedbacks 🙏
I understand your frustration- I would feel the same way. A thought came to mind:
Have you considered working in a public school system doing IT support?
Much of the instruction/testing is computer based, so IT is typically extremely busy. Plus, if you are a patient individual, then that is a plus when giving IT direction to educators, students.
School systems look for qualified IT people people who fit in the school environment.
Your master’s degree certainly would be a nice bonus as well.
Best of luck❗️
Hi, I appreciate your suggestion. I came from the academe prior to moving to industry practice so it is not an uncommon environment for me. The issue is whether there is any opening at all and whether I can get in.
