I live 4 blocks from my office and i feel this way. I do stand all day tho because i don’t want the fat on my thighs to build up so i think that’s adding to it most
I’m no advocate for unnecessary RTO, and have no spouse or kids which 100% makes a difference, but I usually feel emotionally and physically better on the days I go into the office. It’s a 15 min walk, so forces me to get out and get fresh air. I’m also more likely to stop at the gym on the way home than I am to leave my house just to go to the gym or for a midday walk. Working from home too often just turns me into a loaf, so I appreciate that my firm provides balance/basically leaves it up to us.
I just got back into the office and it is a different type of tired. A blend of mental, physical and emotional that you don't feel when you WFH. But I also battled some serious loneliness when working from home so I guess you have to pick your battles.
Do you work in an open office concept? I find the stimulation from that is overhwhelming to my nervous system.
Yes! I was incredibly lonely at home but am drained from the office stimulation. I’ve found it helpful to take a walk outside (if possible) of even just around the building a few times a day. The movement and change of scenery seem to make a difference.
Yes!
💯 yes - I am drained when I go in or travel to the client. Think it’s a mix of going from a solid setup at home to staring at one tiny laptop screen all day, talking in meetings, talking in between meetings and shifting thoughts every few mins as I’m easily accessed sitting in the same room.
