How possible is it to build a US-based career doing global public sector work while not being in New York or DC?

Currently a Manager at Accenture in Public Sector. Living in a progressive US city with a few direct flights to Europe, but definitely not New York or DC. PhD in public affairs. Actually I'm on the hiring roster for a P3 role at the UN.

Considering some life choices that would keep me living where I am though. Debating if this would kill hope of global work.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

After you moved in-house, how did you get more comfortable reviewing contracts or counseling on issues you weren’t super familiar with? I was very specialized at my law firm and took a similarly specialized role in-house….but I still get requests to mark-up types of agreements that I never touched at my firm. I mean what is the time of the year where requirements in most of the companies are at pick?

Like in Dec and March you will see less requirement due to Christmas and financial year ending. Similar what is the best period?

Because in my previous switch, 15 days were wasted due to Christmas and in March lot of requirements went on hold due to financial year ending.
