I try my best to steer clear of all of it. Workplace drama is seriously the worst. I don't have the time for cliquey nonsense. If my coworkers want to engage in it, good for them, but I'm not going to risk my job acting like a high schooler.
Gossip can have a corrosive effect in any workplace, and it should be curtailed as much as possible. If you become aware of it, tell people to stop spreading it. And if there are "insider" cliques that form, it's good to try to keep that to a minimum. If you get workers who are feeling excluded that's a morale killer.
Every single job I've had, has had at least one bad human that has it out for someone. I am 53 and worked in Norway,Englnd, Utah, Nevada and Oregon. Plenty of different industries and even did delivery driving for a dental lab. Even the delivery job had gossipy, backstabbing girls who got me fired after 2 years of causing me lots of stress! Im always doing my best. It seems that those girls are within us all because they even show up as nosy neighbors. I wish us all peace from judgment and the true freedom to be ourselves. Ode to never having to tread carefully, so to avoid bugging the prying minds of the angry, judgemental, assumtuous and all negative people whom shouldn't exist in civilization, but do. Blah
