22 years old, never owned a credit card. Dave Ramsey tells me not to change that. Ramit Sethi says to get one ASAP and use it wisely to start building credit. Who’s right?

Don’t know why, but I am not feeling afraid of getting laid off. And also I don’t feel like pushing to get another job in case that happens. I am fed up with this visa nonsense, the corporate slavery they have in name of H1B. And also this whole world in turmoil due to covid has left me thinking what better i could do to add value to the society. Adding to the agony of American dream is the civil unrest in US, trump again for 4 years, more guns, absurdity of USCIS etc.

Have about 100k total in credit card debt from five different cards with 20%+ APRs (medical bills from Pre-BCG) I can make the monthly payments but I feel bad paying so much interest. Anybody know any companies that will give consolidation loans that big to someone with meh credit?

Boyfriend has $11k in credit card debt but $18K in stocks. Is this smart? In my mind, paying down cc debt is number one priority, but he says the returns on his stocks are higher than the interest he pays. Any corroboration as to if this is a decent strategy?

Can we talk about how stupid this new H1B visa policy is? Why would not want educated and skilled workers to come to the US? They’re not taking jobs from blue collar workers, if anything they create them since they help create more growth

I have $20,000 in my bank account. I have $140K in school loans. I have $25K in car loan, 15% interest rate. I have $5K in credit card debt. I have $1K in bitcoin. I have $1K in fractional stocks. My credit score is 520. I own nothing. I’m currently on unemployment that runs out next week. I have all my monthly expenses covered. Any advice on what I should do with my cash? I want to pay off my high interest car loan.

It’s unfortunate to not see immigrants speaking up about the injustices here. I wonder if it’s because they are scared they’ll be deported ? It’s unfortunate to not see the countless people that come here for work speaking up. I wonder if it’s because they are scare they’ll lose their VISA. It’s just unfortunate and I get it but to maybe some you are looked at as a coward or someone who doesn’t give af about this cause.

Why do people have credit card debt? I’m not talking about for extraordinary circumstances (medical emergency, etc), but just everyday life. Maybe I was raised differently, but do people just constantly buy things they can’t afford and put it on their credit card and not pay?

Had a fight with the bf today - I am here on work visa, have a hard time finding other jobs, last night in the midst of things I said something along the lines of if you had loved me you would have helped me (bf is a citizen) with my papers. Am I wrong to say that? (I feel I am a little but not sure how much) And how to salvage if so? He’s been very nice usually but hasn’t talked to me all day

About a month ago I posted about just getting back into dating when a guy decided last minute to watch a Cowboys game instead of show up for our meetup. Ladies in Chicago, don’t bother with Chase.

I just had dinner with a friend who normally travels every week for work and I asked her about points (as I do) and she isn't signed up for any programs. 7 months of points, credit card rewards, lost.

Me and my SO make $320k, we have a child with special needs and we live in expensive Boston suburb, because of the public school system. We’ve been renting 2BDR 1500 sq feet for the past 6 years, our current rent is $3100, and our lease expires in the end of June. Landlord wants to know if we plan to renew for the same price. We can potentially look into buying kinda fixer-upper, ask for lower price or move out into bigger house. Thoughts?

About to go on a first date post-quarantine. How do people say hello these days on dates? My usual would be a kiss on the cheek but suspect in our current times that’s not going to be suitable. For context we are going for outside drinks so masks are going to have to come off.
