I’m freaking out. I can’t keep up financially. My student loans are over 1000 a month. My rent is close to 2k in NYC. My low salary has me using my Credit card to eat. I don’t have family to fall back on. I’m 25 and feeling trapped. I know I need to budget better and am starting there but wondering what others to do cope and if I should be freaking out as much I am?

Don’t know why, but I am not feeling afraid of getting laid off. And also I don’t feel like pushing to get another job in case that happens. I am fed up with this visa nonsense, the corporate slavery they have in name of H1B. And also this whole world in turmoil due to covid has left me thinking what better i could do to add value to the society. Adding to the agony of American dream is the civil unrest in US, trump again for 4 years, more guns, absurdity of USCIS etc.

If you are a Chase Private Client grandfathered at a time when they didn’t enforce you to maintain an obscene amount of money in your accounts, those honeymoon days are over. Received a letter telling me to basically pony up 150k or get downgraded to Joe the plumber banking status. Chase you guys are going to lose your loyal wealthy customers who are temporarily strapped for cash by doing this.

It’s unfortunate to not see the countless people that come here for work speaking up. I wonder if it’s because they are scare they’ll lose their VISA. Need counseling advice. My GF and I are 27 years old. I am on H1B, and she is on CPT without a full time job, her visa expiring in April next year if she doesn’t get a job that sponsors. Her only way to stay in the country is H4 (marriage!!) and that seems to be a deal breaker for me. I think I am too young for that, and need to be in a better state career / visa wise before I settle down. This is taking a toll on our relationship. One of my best friends always talks about how she loves using afterpay so she can buy things, like stuff from Sephora, and pay later when she has the money. She also has mentioned that she is working on paying off her credit card debt. It hurts me to hear her say these things because I feel like she’s putting herself in a situation that can easily escalate and she won’t be able to get out of debt. Should I kindly mention something or is it not my business?

Before that I spent money on getting a professional resume from Monster. Highly recommended. Good luck all.
