Step 1- nail ur interview.
Step 2- do ur research regarding salary trend of that position and for that company
Step 3- during ur negotiation round, inform the recruiter regarding the salary trend and why u deserve a hike of 100-300%. They usually give a good hike if your salary is way below market value and if ur interview was good enough.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
I started with 6.6 lpa 4 years back and I am at 20 now. I am into health care sector where salaries are little low than IT and I do understand this. However, I changed my job after 4 months and they gave me a good hike coz I showed my passion, my hardworking nature, eagarness to learn, plus my real views of the way I feel when I work with a lower salary. My exact words were - " When you aren't paid your worth, it hurts. "
I am sure HR / interviewer knows ur worth and will pay you if you show ur determination and ur worth.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
Your response really helped, thanks.
Majority of folks here are in IT, w.r.t. AR I think your ctc is in line
There are other factors to look into like age, time spent in the orgs you worked for. I would always suggest check for better opportunities if you can get more salary. Until and unless you have a family and crossed the age of 40 keep options open.
