I recently went to Switzerland and it’s ridiculously expensive…be prepared to pay close to double what you pay at home (my Starbucks coffee was almost double, event fast food was double price). I stayed in Zurich (only need 2 days there, max 3 if you wanna do a full day tour or something. Did a day trip to bern. And then spent a few days in Geneva…probably max 3 days as well as mostly shopping and cruise on water.
+1
I was in Switzerland a few months ago and everything was literally 2-3x as expensive as France. Expect simple lunches in the $50 range.
Zermatt. Matterhorn/cervinia Italy day trip is awesome
Lucerne is beautiful. Very small but worth the trip
Munich of course… a day trip by train to Salzburg is doable and a nice way to spend a day.
For Switzerland: Skip Zurich IMO and go to Luzern or interlaken
Lucerne. Interlaken in the mountains was beautiful in the winter, but the city itself was kind of weird and can probably be skipped.
Zermatt is pretty cool
Munich, next question
Cologne isn’t south Germany but has the best Christmas market/my fave German city
