How do you deal with the sense of anger at work? Honestly, I get really frustrated when people ask the same thing we’ve already covered three times, or when they give me a ‘yes’ when were asked to choose A or B. Meanwhile, I watch colleagues stay calm like it doesn’t even register. Part of me wonders are they just better at letting things go, or do they simply care less?

It's interesting that you bring that up, it's something I think about a lot. I grew up in a family where people lost their temper, and I can have quite a temper myself if I don't work to control it. And I'm always mystified by people who just don't react to things. I'd like to think they've reached some level of enlightenment where they transcend anger. Or most likely it's what you mention, they simply care less.

Ha, I can relate. I definitely have a temper in me too. I honestly wonder if those calm people are super zen masters… or if they’ve just mastered the art of not giving a damn.

You remember that’s it’s just work. Took time. I’m a VP now and just let things roll off.

Wow, that’s impressive! Sounds like you’ve really mastered the art of letting work stress roll off. Definitely a skill I’m still working on.

Genuinely, I never get angry at work, which is funny because I am such an emotional person in my personal life. I feel like with work I just switch off from the emotions as I just think its only a job. Its not my life!

Actually that’s such a good point… work is not my life. I shouldn’t give it so much energy

You need to care a bit less. It will help your mental health a lot. I learned the hard way. If they like it, I love it

Sounds like the ultimate life hack 😅- care a bit less, stress a lot less.

I definitely struggle with this. Remote work has saved me. I stay calm for the duration of the call and then I can have my own private little crash out to cope afterward lol

Hey all,

Are 4 days enough to do this trip Toronto - Montreal - Quebec City - Toronto. Husband and I are taking Thursday & Friday off + weekend. I’m a bit skeptical driving in unpredictable December weather. The ones who done this trip please suggest safety + entertainment + if it’s worth it in winter. Or should we just go local and do something like horseshoe resort and winter wonderland. We’ve already rented the car for those days, will have to drop it back Sunday 10 AM.

Thank you so much!
