How do you keep employee engagement high during slow hiring periods?

Is the organization short-staffed and current employees facing burn out and or fatigue from the lack of support resources? Perhaps being transparent regarding the current situation and thanking them for their efforts during this time is a good place to start. It sounds like the company leaders should be developing a strategy to improve the efficiency, realign distribution needed to hit targets and share the workload within each department. If a company is not willing to spend the budget to hire optimally; they can increase the value for employees by adding some perks or look at other incentives to boost morale. Give them a half day on Fridays or maybe provide a free lunch at the end of the month.

We just do our best to make sure everyone has what they need to do their jobs to the best of their abilities. At the end of the day, that's all you can do.

I think honesty helps. Acknowledging the slowdown and investing in development or connection keeps people from feeling forgotten.

That’s interesting. I always find it’s easy to keep employee engagement high when we’re not hiring. Our resources aren’t being stretched and employees want to be engaged because they are concerned as to why we’re not hiring.

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. Are you traveling during the pandemic or have client interactions been virtual? Lastly, if you are a consultant here, are you on billable hours? My current consulting role is not - so this would be new.

Had a scratchy throat yesterday that has since gone, low grade fever all day today (99-99.9). Have felt off and spacey today, and had a headache which went away after taking Advil. Have an appt to get covid testing tomorrow. Test is thru my doc office and they said they’d have results within 24 hrs. Even so, I currently have severe anxiety about all of it. Anyone have advice for how to cope until I know exactly what’s going on with me? I feel like this stress isn’t good for my immune system.

but I want to work in (Full Stack) Java development I have learned spring boot, angular, rest API, AWS CI/CD pipeline and I have good knowledge of core java, collections.

Will it be a good decision to directly get a job as an experienced candidate by telling I have experience in Java(2 years)

5. Have another business generating revenue to offset this.
