Her offer came in paper, correct, she had to sign it correct? Maybe she should’ve asked that that be in with the offer but anybody who’s willing to yell at you, I don’t mean somebody raising their voice a bit and it feel like yelling, anybody who’s willing to do that does not need to be in any leadership position.

I totally agree that the yelling is inappropriate. She was considering filing a workplace harassment claim. The paper did not mention mentoring. I think thats where they got her. Thats good insight. She should ask to add that in the record so there is a paper trail.
You can never know "for sure" but if you get the details in writing you have legal legs to stand on.

I think thats the best approach. Get the full offer in writing. Have them mention mentorship in writing or walk away
