December exposes every crack in your processes - but that’s not always a bad thing. We plan for slower decision-making, document handovers early, and normalize the idea that not everything needs to be “wrapped up” before year-end. The biggest challenge is expectation management. When leaders model realistic timelines and resist last-minute urgency, the chaos drops dramatically.

Yeah I need to normalise that idea, I always get far too in my head of everything needed to be sorted for a fresh year.
In a funny way, by the time we get to December most of the problems around the holiday shutdowns have already been resolved. Managers are usually pretty good about getting people to plan their schedules ahead of time, so there aren't too many surprises. I'm expecting things to run pretty smoothly, but, you never know, there's always the possibility of unanticipated chaos.

Yeah there’s always that uncertainty which can be stressful should something occur.
We just do our best to communicate everything very clearly and plainly to everybody. Employees and customers alike. Sometimes people get annoyed and I'm empathetic but it is what it is. That's Christmas. Our employees deserve the time off.
