How do you manage working in finance vs personal life? I feel I never have time to do anything else, I am drained.

Same boat, trying to carve out time for working out because it seems to be an only thing that “undrains” me

Yeah, it's kind of funny, finance is my job but my personal finances are in shambles. I haven't updated my spreadsheets or checked my accounts in months, probably. I'm just so sick of looking at numbers at the end of the day, it's the last thing I want to do after a long day at work.

I feel this so deeply. I’ve started using paid subscriptions to help make things a bit easier on myself. YNAB has been super useful for automating transaction tracking and putting all my account values in one place for easy review.

I used to find it awful but I found it was the company I worked for. I am only 6 years into my finance career and I’ve already been through 4 jobs!! Leaving places that make me work until 10pm unpaid everyday was a big thing for me!

Creating an after work ritual has been very helpful. 30ish non-negotiable minutes spent doing only care tasks that help me feel human again. Often, the time is spent eating a solid meal while listening to chill music since I am so guilty of skipping lunch.

I had to start setting more firm boundaries. I don't do anything work related when I am off work. It helps to maintain work life balance when you don't feel like you are always working.

Could use some positive encouragement!
I am pivoting out of a management/leadership operations role of 9 years and into a QI/Compliance role. It is a much needed change and career move/goal for me, yet I am having some undiscovered apprehension before my new start date of 9/13.
I believe everything happens for a reason, so I know this is the right path, just anxious about it. Thanks!

Anyone know how to get a position as an HRBP without HRPB experience? All positions I've looked at want previous experience. Would over 5 years of HR experience and a PHR suffice, or what skills should be added to that?

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!
