Am I the only one who lowkey makes up / embellishes the things I did over the weekend when asked? I just hate killing the vibe when I reveal I have no life
Haha I used to do this with my partner when I first started. He wanted to hear crazy stories of a 22 year old.
Oh I keep it superficial but friendly. I want my clients to feel comfortable with me and taking with me but I do not want them to have any insights to my personal life. I like to keep clear boundaries.
I think that’s the smart way to do it. The more generic the better, generally.
It depends on the client. Some are friendly and enjoy a little chit chatting before getting into things, others are all business and seem to have no time for it. I just go by feel and tend to keep things surface level.
It depends, I tend not to volunteer a lot of info about myself, just because I don't think it matters. But if we get into a conversation I'll engage in conversation about it. I don't think my interests really align with most of the people I know via work, so I tend not to get into too many details. If I mention the books I'm reading or the music I listen to I don't think they'll have any idea what I'm talking about.

I’m usually pretty superficial but friendly….basic info but not much else I’ll usually share
I find it’s best to meet the client where they’re at. Some clients absolutely do not pass the vibe check, so cautious where necessary.
There are definitely some that don’t pass the vibe check. I had one guy get a little too open/comfortable with me a few years back and would talk about his sex life. It was totally awkward 🤢
