How often do yall go about changing your LinkedIn or your resumes for those that are in a job currently but also looking? Finally made some changes between resume and LinkedIn and started getting recruiters reaching out and making it through screenings, so hopefully it's through those efforts.

Once I was in my current job for a little over a year I forced myself to go back and do a better job describing what I do in both places. Plus I had some new training to add. I’m terrible at keeping things up to date because I’m a bad self promoter, but it felt really great knowing that I have a clear description of what I do out there, not something that reads like the employer’s job description.

I update my resume frequently but I try to be more discreet on LinkedIn since employers pay attention to that sort of thing. I keep my resume fresh always though, especially in this job market.

What are your client follow-up/communication policies or practices? I’m hearing more and more that clients don’t like the long periods of time with little to no contact. From my perspective, since I bill for my time, unless I have an update or need something, I don’t initiate a call. Also, clients hold on to important info and don’t initiate a call cause they’re waiting for me to communicate with them.
