Thoughts on strategic finance at Google?
Hi Google - I am requesting guidance!
I am prepping for my interview specifically GCA and open ended questions. I struggle to tell if the outcome should be talking through your process/steps (maybe for a question like - how would you go about determining program complexity) vs a specific solution such as create x new product, for x market by x date based on my assumptions. Is the desired outcome something I can clarify with the interviewer?

I am also wondering if the potential H1B 10k fee might be playing an role in the decision as I do need H1B transfer if I get the offer.
Yes 100k. Thank you for the catch

Normal to get rejected without feedback. The theory I'm that giving rejection reasons (which as we all know are often very subjective) exposes the firm to legal risk. You're lucky you got a rejection rather than ghosting.
to clarify, G usually does not ghost, I’ve gotten rejections both over email and phone. Smaller companies are more likely to ghost though.
Normal, G wants 0 legal risk. The rejection reason could be that the last interviewer was hungry and just didn't like or they created an artificial external pipeline to put their favorite internal candidate there.
I doubt it has any correlation to your interview performance. If you are a McKinsey employee, the job at G would be very easy for you.
It's just politics, not merit. G is not a good place to be.
idk if BizOps is same as strategy but seems like a Deloitte mafia at G tho CEO is McK
Yeah BizOps is the Central Strategy team
I too went through the final round for BizOps and got rejected without any feedback. Then I saw the role got reposted again.
My friend at BizOps just said that they’ve set the bar super high. Any minor slip up (you may not even be aware of) would be used to reject you by the final hiring panel. It’s tough but try to keep applying for roles.
i mean ain’t yall used to prickly bars from McK
You guys are just overthinking it. Central BizOps is a very small team (like probably ~20 L4s/L5s across all Google. This role probably had 1K MBB consultant applicants for it.
right not familiar w/ BizOps specifically but my impression of ex-consultants in general
