My base loc is Bengaluru, but currently I am not mandatorily required to work from office, and have been working from home since I joined Deloitte in July. Should I talk to my manager and go back to my hometown Kolkata and work from there? Staying in PG all day and working from here is not quite feasible for me. Suggest pls. Deloitte India

Yes - years ago I left a position at one of the big shops because it was causing such severe stress and negatively impacting my mental and physical health (manifested as severe anxiety and panic attacks that landed me in the ER twice because the symptoms mirrored TIA/mini-strokes). The stress also was a contributing factor in secondary infertility for nearly two years. When I resigned, I was shocked at how much my mind and body changed for the better and how quickly I was able to get back to being healthy by removing myself from that environment.
I’m dealing with this now, I can’t figure out where the anxiety/panic attacks are stemming from - but they either happen during back to back calls where it’s overwhelming or after a really long day, or when we (hubs and I) are bickering, and we recently moved so I haven’t had a chance to really get out and make friends working 12 hours days. So, whether it’s work, husband, or mental - maybe it’s all of them, but I hate this feeling. I love my team and my company. I love our house, I love my husband, but something’s eating me from the inside out. Probably just need to make some food and exercise adjustments…. Or go on a vacation where I sleep the first half and actually enjoy the beach the second half lol.
I haven't left a job for stress related reasons, but I have seriously considered it. There have been times when I realized the job was making it so I just couldn't enjoy anything, it was like I was turning into a burnt out case. I was probably lucky because I recognized the symptoms and I was able to step back a bit. But it was a difficult experience and it has made me wonder if I'm just in the wrong line of work.
I recently moved to another company but o hate what I do so bad that I need out! I’m about to burn out and I just need to change the industry/what I do. I’ve been in healthcare PR for my whole career but I want out ASAP. If anyone has any tips, I’d appreciate!
