I got promoted to Lead recently, but my actual day-to-day has just become 8 hours of meetings and unblocking others. I feel like I’ve become a highly-paid secretary who knows Python. I’m worried that if I stay in this role too long, my skills will atrophy and I’ll be stuck in middle management forever. Is Lead just a trap to get us to do the emotional labor of the team?

An auditor myself, I constantly feel many ppl working at audit look down on ppl working in industry and other practices, which I don’t understand at all. Do they truly believe their job is superior or they just say so to make both you and them feel better about this job?
