Joining the ranks of those being laid off due to Covid, I’m now looking to go freelance. Having worked as an Agency Producer my entire career, but jobs now being scarce I’m looking to broaden my horizon and also seek work in Production Companies. For those of you who are doing both, or did the switch, what did you find most different or challenging going from Agency to Production Company side? Was there anything that threw you off or that you hadn’t anticipated? Any regrets? Pitfalls to avoid?
After 10 years of working as a FTE PM/producer I’ve now been laid off (thanks Covid) and am looking to start freelancing for the first time. What advice do you have for a new freelance PM/producer? Also, what kind of insurance do you take out as a freelancer?

How badly do you have to screw up at a big 4 as a manager to be fired? I've heard of pips at staff/senior level. Would you get put on one at a manager level first or just get fired?
Have you ever applied for a position at a company you’ve been laid off from? Is that weird? Not that I’m at all considering it, but I’m just curious if anyone has actually done it... (And why??) 🧐

Saw this on LI, thought it was applicable to many of the posts I've seen about how PwC/D are trying to deny layoffs and say the separations are performance-based. http://www.forbes.com/sites/lizryan/2016/06/07/my-performance-review-was-outstanding-and-then-i-got-fired/#6227cb81746a

How does background check work? I omit a less than 2 months experience (was fired due to conflict with the boss) in my cv. Should I fill this info in the background check form too? Is it lying if I don’t reveal it? But if I reveal will I be possible to lose the offer?
Got laid off three months ago from Strategy, and found and starting a new job in two weeks with 15% higher pay! Thought it was going to take me more than half a year and I would go broke by then. Just wanted to share a success story so those who got laid off can feel some hope!
Does anyone know someone who has been fired from their firm for political activism? Please state why and the context.
I was laid off back in January and have been on the job hunt since. I’ve been lucky enough to make it to the final round for a few different companies... but ultimately did not receive an offer. Starting to have a hard time keeping my head up... any other fish in a similar situation?
