The truth? You’re running into car issues which is impacting you getting to work and other obligations. Be transparent. These things happen and a good manager will understand.

@CVS Health-i dont have anyone who can follow me. I am just going to have my Director give me a ride to the work meeting, then give me a ride to the car shop after the meeting even though its a 20 min drive. Uber is too expensive. My car is already showing signs of transmission issues--which can be super expensive to repair.
I’d Uber into work because you really don’t want to use absences for a car issue. What will happen when you’re actually sick?
I get that it’s a work thing, but they shouldn’t have to reimburse you. The car problem is yours. And transmission problems are heinously $ draining so you may want to look at other options as much as you dislike it.
The truth, and it depends how far away you are from work.
