Many #machinelearning algorithms, whether supervised or unsupervised, make use of distance measures.
Take k-NN for example, a technique often used for supervised learning. As a default, it often uses euclidean distance.
By itself, a great distance measure.
Knowing when to use which distance measure can help you go from a poor classifier to an accurate model.

Anyone lived in 211 E Ohio? Any experience?
New to Fishbowl?

Correct it is not real west loop. Walkable to west loop sure. Lots of corporate long term housing. Had a gf who lived there, it’s not like a horrid pit so if you are ok with it and want to save money go for it.
I have lived in PT. It is definitely bare bones with no amenities like gym/pool etc. but like any other old building. Getting in tower-1 is easier from access perspective and closer to exit.
I would rather save $300 and walk 3 extra blocks to Randolph and spend it there.
Yea what? That rooftop pool is gone? I used to work in that Pepsi building and would dream about a pool day when I was at work all the time.

You should tour it - the building is DATED AF.
also kinda in the middle of nowhere - not really the West Loop.
I lived there 20 years ago and it was great! I agree you should tour as have no clue on upkeep but I do know when I went back a few years ago to visit that the main floor was entirely different and not nearly as open/fancy and full of stores and restaurants as it was in my day. Location was great for commute but not for social.
It’s like the Walmart of high rise living.
“GREAT VALUE”
+1 to touring. It is a very old building that doesn’t have quality construction - it gave me the impression of paper thin, 2007 construction

oh no - much old than that. think mid 80s.
it gives a college dorm vibe.
Rising Star
It feels like a prison with how big it is and all the weird checkpoints in the middle.
Also lots of transient residents - lots of corporate housing, short term rentals, etc.
Don’t do it. You’re welcome
Good if you’re looking for bare bones / cheaper place to live. Not good if you’re looking for anything else.
Felt old in 2007 when I was put up there for long term assignment. It was… adequate.
Why not find something in the south loop north of 16th street, tons of newer buildings at a reasonable price point, while still being close to lake, park, bars, and the L
My friend lived there and had a nice renovated unit but he hated everything else about it
Presidential towers is a great place to live if you regularly catch the metra or want to save a few hundred $. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
