What are copywriter salaries like right now? Lower than pre-COVID? About the same? Applying for jobs and wondering if I should lower my asking price because of budget cuts/layoffs. And I’m thinking LA, NY, and the Bay Area.
I got laid off in January and have been trying to find a new job since. I keep making it to the phone interview and sometimes a second interview, but always get ghosted. It’s so disheartening. I have too much experience for an internship, and I have too little to be the top choice for copywriter roles. I know I’m a good writer, I know what I’m capable of, but it’s so exhausting trying to convince people. They always like my book but it’s never enough to get the gig. What can I do?
My partner and I are thinking about moving to NYC! Are there any CW jobs there right now or is it totally oversaturated from layoffs?
Former CW here. Went the planning route because i already had a corporate background that helped me start off at a higher pay. Recently laid off and trying to find an angle to exploit my creative and strategic expertise. I used to be a good cw -and even won awards- but i really needed the income planning offered. I’ve also done well as a planner. What can I do? I have mentored many creatives and strategists to know that I might be a good ACD, as I seem to have more talent at guiding than doing.
Did anyone come to the brand side after being an agency copywriter? I’m considering it. I got laid off in a small market and I can’t move, so I may need to pivot.
Ladies help a sister out. My adbros4lyf agency practically laid off most female creatives. Shocker. Do you all know of any CW gigs hiring at the moment. Pie in the sky dream at this point.
My coworker, a senior copywriter, was just laid off. They've got tons of experience. I've seen them churn out 5 individual scripts in an hour. Any leads I can throw their way?
Anyone need a solid ACD/CW with a ton of digital and shopper experience? Got laid off, along with a ton of other talented folks. jaimegscreative.com

I was making $130k as a senior copywriter at a smaller shop in NYC but was laid off. Did this salary give me an unrealistic expectation of what I’m going to make next, either in NYC or other markets?
I’ve been at in-house publisher agencies for the last 3 years but just got laid off from my ACD role. Is it too aspirational to apply for a similar title at an agency? Should i go for senior CW gigs?
I finally became a Senior Copywriter and then my entire team was cut and I got laid off. Now my only offers are for copywriter again. I’m torn between waiting for the title and needing a job. Advice?
My company just laid off my entire content team in NY due to budget cuts I’m looking for either a copywriter or senior copywriter gig. Any leads? Thanks in advance!!
So I recently got laid off and am unsure how to move forward. I’m kinda down in the dumps bc my career started so promisingly. I’d love to meet with a fellow NYC CW and chat over a beer or coffee.
When you’re clicking around in Linked In and see that a copywriter that was fired for poor performance from your agency has a) given themselves a title promo and -cont-
NYC CW here. Really want to move to Sydney on a working holiday visa but also want to get inked tf up. Severance package won't cover both. Thoughts?
TFW a "senior copywriter" writes "your" instead of "you're". Proper usage: Get your shit together or you're fired.
Constantly worried I’m going to get fired because I don’t know where I stand at my mid sized law firm (second year associate).
Just got laid off from D and can I apply again in a different practice? Will they even look at my application or it’s a big no no
Does anyone else feel like some of the recent layoffs are premature? Especially with the President’s reopening guidelines today. I feel that agencies could of held on to employees longer.
I just got news that the person who sexually harassed me at my previous job was laid off recently. He was more senior than me and took advantage of me when I didn’t know many people there. Happy day.
At ACN, who actually tells you you are getting laid off? HR, your CC, or Partner or a combo? Just checking for a friend of mine.
Hey Accounting Fam - Started looking for a job when my company started going south due to COVID about 2 months ago. I’ve been very blessed to have survived 2 rounds of layoffs. Got an offer today that is a 15% increase in base pay. Company is stable and their leading in their field. Should I feel guilty for wanting to leave? I’m thankful my manager has kept me safe so far, and I feel like I owe her, specially since our team is short-staffed now. Advice and anecdotes welcome.
Layoffs in D Advisory coming soon. A partner asked me to get 40 hours from whichever sources I can for next 4-6 weeks
When I see how people love spreading rumors, accept alternative facts without research, like layoffs or ratings, I know why all big4 r in such a shit place
Dallas tax layoffs - 9 in BTS (4 SM, 2 mgr, 3 staff). Int and SALT no layoffs yet but expecting EOW.
Was looking into roles at West Monroe/WMP but heard they recently had layoffs. Anyone have perspective they can share?
So, a spot I made (concept to completion) got shelved due to COVID forcing the client’s marketing plan to change. During that time, my partner and I were laid off. Recently, the spot aired, but the agency credits a different team for the work – me, my parter, and my CDs aren’t listed. Do I ask the agency to correct it? Just throw it in my book with explanation? Just take the L and chalk it up to that being how the industry is?
Does staying at a job too long make you less marketable? A CFO who worked at a company for over a decade and was fired because of cut backs was hired for temp work. An accounting manager of 6 years was hired for tech support. How does this happen?
Sorry WarnerMedia/Fullscreen folks 😕 https://variety-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/variety.com/2020/tv/news/warnermedia-begins-new-round-of-layoffs-amid-restructuring-1234826973
Any Junior AD or AD spots out there I’m willing to relocate! I’ve been laid off for a month and haven’t quite landed yet. Looking for leads.

What are your guys though on BCH? Got all mine from the hard fork and am just wondering whether it's simply being pumped or if you think there's any future for this currency? Contemplating selling in exchange for other alt currencies... suggestions welcome
Tenured Deloitte Manager. Not happy with Partners I’m working with. I’m supposed to present for SM but don’t want to. Chances of landing an SM role with other Big4?
What are some common exit opportunities for an Accenture consultant outside of an MBA? 1-2 year consulting experience
What are your experiences with dating someone from a client team? I kinda stumbled into sth with a guy (not directly in my team)... I’m going to roll off end of this year & think we should *contd
What’s the best way to find a job in Europe ? Currently a manager in big 4 with IT Strategy and Deals background.

Booz fish, what does leadership look for in a candidate and what should one stress during an interview? Asking for a friend.
Those of you who started a new job during wfh or shortly before wfh, do you feel like you’re not learning as quickly as you would otherwise? Any advice for me? I’m just feeling very isolated and unsupported. There are days with no phone/video interaction with colleagues/higher-ups. I’m sure some of you would welcome fewer meetings, but I feel like I don’t have enough. I’m director-level so don’t expect handholding but I want some active participation from management in my development.
I've been struggling since February to get my WFH setup in a way that works for me. I live in a 2br apartment with my partner so clearing the extra bedroom of distractions (we used it as a video and tabletop gaming room) was an easy choice. Unfortunately my productivity is much lower than it ever was at the office. I don't really get distracted at home, but I'm not getting as much done either. Anyone else still stuck like this? My company doesn't provide budget for home office either :/
I put in a booking request for a vacation and it got rejected and says “DC Approval Required: Chargeable” what does this mean? Did I do something wrong?
Is it common to have a follow up interview after the Super Day at Big 4. I had 5 people interview me on Super Day and now they want me to meet one of their Senior Mgr. SC position for TAS practice CTD
So given the merger, what's better? Collect points at SPG then convert to Marriott as needed? Or vice versa? Which has better earning and spending? Thanks! New to this :)
For the Marriott Double Points promotion, can I stay 1 night at Hotel A then 2 nights at Hotel B and meet the 2 stays requirement ?
It seems like more and more schools that started out with remote learning are returning to the classroom. Is this a good idea? Are you ready for it?
Biggest downside to hotel living: I hate how many people I have to talk to/smile at in the mornings before I've had my coffee.
Who’s authoritarian again? “I’m not going to recommend or allow any New York City family to send their child to a school that I wouldn’t send my child to,” Mr. Cuomo said.
