I have taught for soooo long that I seldom go any where that I don’t run into former students. I have one of those faces that I could not rob a bank because someone would say I know her!

That's funny. That's how my husband is. He seems to know everybody

What an awesome story. That is what makes it all worth while🙂
I always love seeing former students. What I dread is the day one of them is my nurse or doctor… not because I doubt their abilities, but it’s very private and vulnerable. They’re still my kids no matter how old they get so it just feels inappropriate.

Oh, I agree! I have former students who are nurses, but haven't had the experience of having them as my caregiver.
That’s so funny! I was in the bank yesterday and the bank manager was one of my former kindergarteners! He said he didn’t remember much but said he really loved being in my class! ❤️

That's so wild. I always tell my former students,"Wow, you all are making me get old!" It always generates a chuckle. I love it when I can congratulate students on their success.

The other night when I went to Culvers with a group of friends. As I was placing my order, one of the boys in the kitchen area leaned down and shouted out to me, " Hey, Mrs. ________, how are you? Guess what, I'm gonna be a Senior this year!" A couple other kids also called out to me, and one of them came to our table and chatted with us. I guess it is those moments that make you feel like your not a total failure as a teacher.
