I hate companies that say one thing, & then do something else. Got a text last night that my estimated phone bill for this month was $326, and then just received notice that they took out $458. This wiped out my account and I need to purchase stuff . I am so frustrated with my carrier, and if I didn't need my phone for my job and side gigs, I would just get rid of it. How do you dwell with unexpected expenses on a miniscule teacher's salary? Who do you recommend for a phone carrier?

You really need to look into a different phone plan! You also need to discuss this with your boss/your boss’s boss and tell them you need them to supply you your own phone to which they are responsible for the bill and take it off your expense account. Good luck! If nothing happens you may consider looking for

I use tmobile but I would love to find something more affordable too

That is terrible! How can they get away with that?
As for needing it for work, how can your school ask you to use your personal device without compensating you? That seems unreasonable.
I don’t use my phone for anything work related. I keep an old digital camera in my classroom for photos of kids. I use my school-issued laptop to check emails and complete all
Work-related tasks. And I do not have my work email on my personal phone. I make it a point to use school- issued devices for school work, only check messages during paid working hours, and keep those boundaries firm! You should not be obligated to use your personal device for school- related things.
I hope you can dispute that bill and find a better cell phone company! Best of luck!

It is not required, however since they took the wall phones out of our rooms, we have not quick way to connect with anyone since our intercom button only connects to the main office.

I haven't had problems with Verizon but I agree with previous comments your work should reimburse you.

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?
