I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

Biglaw Law Firm Recruiting Manager here:
The week delay is because: the practice group leader is busy, a deal is closing, the recruiting team needs to get administrative sign offs done, someone is on vacation, it’s a holiday for some people…

None of these are you being the second or third choice candidate. Using a HH isn’t hurting you (if it were, they won’t interview you, not go through the trouble, like you enough for multiple rounds, and then not pay a HH).

Tough to do, but all you can do now is relax and focus on other things. Hope it works out.

Is your question whether you should remove yourself from consideration? No. Just wait!

Sure, but my question was more so about managing expectations based on the circumstances, and whether what I’ve described indicates anything about my chances

Hey, seeking some help.

I've been asked to walk through a financial model I built as part of case study round for an Infrastructure investor. The model works fine for the inputs they provided but would get stuck when any input in the model is changed and I'm afraid the interviewer has figured that already and will specifically ask what's wrong.

I am unable to find any bugs with the code or why the model wouldn't work. How do I address it and not sound like a complete dumbass to them?!
