The week delay is because: the practice group leader is busy, a deal is closing, the recruiting team needs to get administrative sign offs done, someone is on vacation, it’s a holiday for some people…
None of these are you being the second or third choice candidate. Using a HH isn’t hurting you (if it were, they won’t interview you, not go through the trouble, like you enough for multiple rounds, and then not pay a HH).
Tough to do, but all you can do now is relax and focus on other things. Hope it works out.

Sure, but my question was more so about managing expectations based on the circumstances, and whether what I’ve described indicates anything about my chances
