I have always been so OCD about having the top of my students' desks clean. I'll admit that I kind of freak out over messes. This grading period, I am struggling with kids breaking pencils, writing on the desks and books. They are sneaky and I am not catching them doing it. Another teacher down the hall is having the same problem. What is your policy about writing on things? Also, what the heck can be used to clean everything off the desks?

I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm. Is there any insight to how many billable hours this would require, and how much time that would actually be? For reference, the firm has a 1900 billable hour requirement and the partner said I would have “no problem” fulfilling that based on the work they have.
